The Long Wait

The Arrival: 0730 hours

Went to the Immigration Department to get my Passport renewed and was taken aback with the long queue even though it just opened. It's places like this that has the craziest queues!

And to top all of that craziness, I had to wait for 60 people + some others more to go through until it was my turn. Only three to four counters were operating. Damn, they should hire more personnel. I had to wait an agonizing 3 hours plus (from queing time) to actually get my papers processed and paid for.

The only plus is that, your passport will be ready in less than one hour! It says to wait for one hour, so I went for lunch and came back in 45 minutes to see that my number was already called out. Went straight to the counter to collect. Awesome much.

The Departure: 1215 hours

Will be traveling to Singa-land end of the month. Will you be there?

p/s: I hate children/kids/babies in places like these (government departments/banks/etc). So noisy can! When they walk around I have to avoid bumping into them, afraid that they might fall 'cuz they so short and small. =.= Whaddafreak!

Feeling Shitty

Stayed awake throughout the night (morning) and now it is six in the morning. I'm up because this is what I do to my body daily, messing up my biological clock just because I can.

Currently feeling shitty like crap stressing out on unfinished projects. I was feeling okay earlier, just that I kept on thinking about it, makes the feeling build up inside of me. Now I feel like a ticking time bomb which is going to explode any minute. My head literally feels like bursting into a million pieces.

These past four months hasn't really been much productive to me. You know when they say that one wrong move may spoil your whole day or something like that? Well, it kinda happened to me in a way that I wasn't too pleasant with something earlier which kinda made the rest of the months miserable for me.

This is the time when I would just want it to end so that I could get a fresh start. Doesn't everybody think of this every now and then? I myself have thought of this a lot of times but still it comes back every time to haunt me. Yes, because I procrastinate a lot. Can't blame me though.

Feeling lost these past few months not knowing what to do. Don't you hate it when you feel miserable and that you have to accomplish something at the same time? Ironically speaking, I do know what I want in the future and that's kinda stopping me from my current goals. It's so frustrating trying to make time run faster. Not that it's a good thing though.

Today's the day when I actually had to look away from my Facebook feeds because reading other people's statuses about work just isn't helping.

Okay, I'm done ranting. Feeling slightly better now.

One Of The Many Life Mysteries least, to me is it.

Even more so mind-boggling is when they already own a smart phone.
Aren't these touch pads just a larger version of your smart phones?

No means of anything negative here.
I'm just killing my braincells thinking on something totally unnecessary.
You might just see me buying one in the future.

Hebe Tian My Love Promo Tour in Malaysia

I got to know some weeks ago that Hebe Tian was coming to Malaysia to promote her solo album entitled 'My Love'. Apart from banners hanging around town, most of its promos were done online through social media, well at least that was how I had gotten to know that she was coming.

So just awhile ago, I attended her meet-and-greet at TAR College KL. That was my first time ever queuing up for more than two hours just to see a celebrity (from a very far distance because I haz no VIP tickets!). I was at the venue around 6pm while entry was only allowed at 8pm. Once inside, fans still had to wait for another hour until Hebe's appearance. So that total's up to about 3 hours of waiting time. That was an agonizing period for me standing with an empty stomach.

Nonetheless, once the sweetheart Hebe Tian walked in, all the wait felt worthwhile; at least for a few moments. She sang two songs, one of which was 'My Love'. Hebe was and still is my favourite one among the three from the group S.H.E. which was why I had to grab this opportunity to go to this event. Nothing beats watching your all-time pop idol in reality.

I couldn't take good quality photos as I had no zoom lens with me. I was only armed with Mr. Mark and a 50mm prime. Photos below were all cropped for a better view. Shall wait for her to come back to Malaysia for a concert some time soon.

Till next time. :]

This was how far away I was standing. A good 15 to 20 meters away!

7aste Moscow at Laundry Bar, The Curve

So I was at 7aste Moscow last Friday night which was held at Laundry Bar, The Curve. I did not know that 7aste was even ON that weekend until a day before!

It was my first time attending a 7aste event, though they already had several other themed parties in the past. So this time around, it is a must-go. I grabbed three entry passes from @dustyhawk. Many thanks to him.

So I called my bro Jonathan to tag along, Cynthia was coming as well. Haven't seen them for a long time, prolly about three months.

Anyway, entry starts at 7.30pm and despite the massive traffic jam, we managed to reach in time and we were damn friggin' early! Nobody has entered the venue yet! Decided to have dinner first at Paddington's.

After getting stuffed full with pancakes, we headed our way to Laundry Bar, after making a pit stop of course (always important and necessary). They were serving Smirnoff Vodka that night as well as free flows of Tiger beer. Now nothing sounds better that that.

And that was how my Friday night went. Until the next 7aste!

Photos from JoMS's iPhone4. So blue like Avatar.

There is a difference.
You just have to look deeper.

I Choose You

Did nothing productive today.
Went all the way to Kepong
to get Papa Smurf!

I tell you,
the warehouse there
has a gazillion soft toys!

All for sale
at a very reasonably cheap price.

Then I saw this yellow furball.
And decided to take it back home as well.

Pikachu, I choose you!

Who says guys can't keep soft toys?
They are so huggable can.

Where East Meets West

This is a barrel.
The one that Donkey Kong picks up and throws.

It holds 10 pints of beer.
Since it was happy hour,
we had an extra 5 pints.

Conclusion is,
15 pints for
2 person.

Mega bloated!

And you may spot the not for the photo above.

Merely presentation wise?

The Irony In Achieving Your Dreams

It is always a good thing to have something to aim for.
As in for the future.

But for me to clearly see and know what I want,
makes me less interested in what I'm doing now.

Is that just me talking
Or am I just unwilling?

How do I get there if I don't start from here?

System Of A Down

What is the value of education,
when all you do
is just absorbing what is given?

What is the value of education,
if all you work for
is to just get a good grade?

What is the value of education,
if you are afraid to bend the rules?

What is the value of education,
if you rush to complete your work
just because the deadline is near?

What is the value of education,
if you have no confidence
in presenting your idea?

What is the value of education
when there are restrictions?

Never Underestimate

...and also never look down on people.
You need these people to survive.

Also you will never know that
one day they will become better than you.

Personal experience:

You can have
Great directors,
Great cinematographers,
And great editors...

But a film,
Can never be completed perfectly without
Production designers,
Prop masters,
And location scouts.

Story Plotting

Was out building the plot for an upcoming short film;
non-related to college assignments.

Together with JianYang, YenYee, MinYang and XinYing

Did some brainstorming on production design,
Did some storyboarding

Had some hiccups on props.
Actually still having hiccups on props.

So little time,
So much to do.

A totally non-related music video.
Just to fit the quote.

Me playing with Photo Booth.

Assignments at a complete standstill right now.
Just because I can.

Was On Video Call

Did some discussion with a friend awhile ago.
Had to video call because typing text just isn't going to work.

Had a mega idea block
but in the end everything was settled.

Progression to be continued in the morning,
as in a few hours time.

Busy weekend,
Busier week ahead.

Still procrastinating.
Just because I can.

The Humbling Effect

Time after time, when you think that you are the best
and nobody else is ever going to top you...

There will be a day when someone emerges,
to be better than you,
to be greater than you.

at least, that's what you think of them.

This is where the humbling effect happens.

But then again,
I am proud to say that I am one step closer
to achieving what I want.

Joining this competition was an experience on its own.
I have learned a lot.
Gained a lot.
There were no regrets.

However, the journey doesn't end here.
The awards ceremony will be held on a later date at Zouk Club KL.

And of course,

Time For You To Rest

The first 2MP camera phone

We were together for 7 years.
And I thank you for your services all these while.

After suffering from a fatal fall from my lap onto the rough hard tar road,
you then failed to turn back on.

But I guess it's time for you to rest.
You have served me well.

Goodbye k750i.

Kuala Lumpur 48 Hour Film Project

Last weekend was filled with fun and excitement as it was time for the KL 48 Hour Film Project!
To plan, shoot and edit a short film in 48 hours, now that's what you call an adrenaline rush.

"It's not always about winning,
it's the experience that counts."

Picked up the genre 'Romance' from a hat.
And we were off! A weekend filled with laughter, food and zero stress!
Cuz we are just that pro.
Wait for the film! It'll be out soon.

Total Proudness

limited sources

Words coming from a proud Scorpio.
Yes, I am that thick faced sometimes.
And I like it.

So true. Period.

What Is Design?

Design is all around us.
Practically, everything you see is a design of something.
Design is a never ending process;
Which always starts of with the play on concepts.
Is design merely on planning and work?
Or does it have to do with emotions and aesthetics?
Can you call art a design?
Or is design not art at all?
It could be a paradox between these two,
But for what I know
Design is the answer to everything.

This just shows how much of a slacker I am.

Once again after a long hiatus, I'm back into updating this small humble orange space of mine.

A lot had happen throughout these past four months or so, some good some bad. Nothing life changing yet though.

Resorts World Genting, First World Plaza Secrets | A Blogger's Day Out

On 19th February 2011. I find myself traveling 6000 feet higher right up to the hills where Resorts World Genting is located. I was once again invited by RWGenting to attend one of their great events! This this, it was 'Bloggers Day Out'.

10 bloggers including myself was invited to attend this event where by we were given complimentary meals and also a RM100 Holiday Card to enjoy all the great entertainment they have in First World Plaza.

Fun Fact: Did you know that Resorts World Genting had 19.9 million visitors in the year 2010? Now that is awesome! Let's reach 25 million in 2011.

Upon arrival at the Genting Hotel, we headed to the Visitors Galleria for a quick tour and brief.

Next up, we were taken to Pedas Springs Spa. That's right, a spa! Bet you didn't know there's one in First World Plaza eh?

You can get there by taking the lift or staircase down which is behind Rich Dad Cafe.

Pedas Springs is a wholesome family spa with various range of relaxation options. In Pedas Springs they have a Signature floating villa, 4 VIP Spa Suites, 23 treatment beds, Thai massage rooms, hot spring pools, infra thermal room, aroma steam room, a tranquil lake-view terrace and also a movie lounge!

With just RM68, you will get to enjoy all the spa's facilities which includes the Thermal Springs Pool, Thermal Infra Room, Aroma Steam Room, Relaxation Lounge, Movie Lounge, Internet Access, Lockers & Safety Box, Luggage Room and Garden Terrace.

The bloggers enjoyed a complimentary Foot Steam + upper body massage. It was total relaxation. My feet feels as light as a feather after that foot steam. Great for people who have been walking around First World Plaza the whole day.

Pedas Springs Spa is located at Lot No.1.17, First World Plaza. Visit Pedas Springs Spa Official Website for more info.

Nothing like a good buffet to fill n empty stomach. After a relaxing time at the spa, we were to have lunch at the First World Cafe.

First World Cafe sits 2400pax! So you can imagine it to be a huge area. Also with lots of food selection. First World Cafe caters monthly themed food. That day, since it was Chinese New Year month, we were having CNY themed food.

Most hotel guests will enjoy a complimentary meal here along with their stay.

First World Cafe operates daily, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Buffet Breakfast: 6.00am - 10.30am
RM27.00++ (Adult)
RM13.50++ (Child)

Buffet Dinner: 5.30pm - 9.30pm

RM 24.00++ (Child)

First World Cafe is located on the 3rd Floor of First World Plaza.

Well, I'm not really a big fan of haunted houses but we all kinda have to go through it.

The whole experience will be in 3D as you are given 3D glasses before you enter the 'elevator of doom'.
I surely won't want to spoil the fun for you. You should check it out for yourself.

The Combo Ticket Package is at RM30 which includes the Haunted Adventure passes as well as entry to the Ripley's Museum.

Haunted Adventure is located at the Level 2 of First World Plaza. Near Times Square (the center stage).

If you have seen the show on TV and think that you don't need to enter the museum, well, you're wrong. The Ripley's museum has more to offer.

First off, the Ripley's museum is huge! There are rooms after rooms... it seems never ending! Just some things to look out for while you are here: The Mysterious Gate, The Dizzy Tunnel/Bridge and make sure you visit their toilets. =]

Tickets sells for RM18 for adults and RM15 for children ages 3-12years but it is advisable to get the Combo Ticket for RM30 which includes the Haunted Adventure as well.

The museum operates from 10am-10pm daily.

The Ripley's Museum is located at the 2nd Floor in First World Plaza.

After Ripley's, we had some time to ourselves so we headed towards the 4D Motion Master.

4D Motion Master is a cinema-like experience where you get to watch a cartoon animation in 3D + your seats will be moving interacting along with the animation.

They have two shows every time, with 30 minutes intervals and each show will last for about 15 minutes or so.

Single entry will cost RM8. However, you can enter with your Indoor Theme Park or All Park tag.

4D Motion Master is located near the entrance to the Outdoor Theme Park (near Flying Coaster).

On and off there will be performances and dances in Times Square First World Plaza. Times Square is situated in the middle of First World Plaza Ground Floor, where the stage is at.

As you can see below, there was a dance act by the Genting resident dancers. Also at that time, there was a short performance by the performers of GLITZ!

times square

First World Plaza also has its very own bowling alley! The 28 lanes provided guarantees you to have the best bowling experience ever! Now what's special about Genting Bowl is that, after 6pm, you can have a 'glow in the dark' bowling experience!

Price per game starts at RM6 before 8pm on a weekday and RM7 after 8pm. Price may vary on different days and time.

Genting Bowl is located at Floor 2B in First World Plaza.

it's the largest indoor snow world in Malaysia! You get to experience below zero temperature even in a tropical climate!

Entry is RM25 for adults and child. If you are a MyKad/Genting World Card Member, oui get to enter for just RM20.

Snow World is located at Level T2A in First World Plaza.

Resorts World Genting have just renovated The Patio in First World Genting.

Take the bridge and walk over the gondola river and you will find yourself in a relaxing lounging area, The Patio.

The Patio now has 4 different themed areas, the General Bar, the Wine & Whisky Bar, The TIGER Bar and the 'Godfather's Lounge'.

The Wine & Whisky Bar

Drink the best wine and whisky here at the Patio. This area is separated away from the general bar giving you just enough privacy to talk and mingle among your friends.

The GodFather's Lounge

Feeling a little bit posh? Have a feeling you are above all others? Take the stairs up next to the Wine & Whisky Bar and you will fine yourself in the 'GodFather's Lounge'.

Enjoy the best wine here.

The TIGER Bar are for football fans as they can enjoy their beer while watching their favourite football team play on TV. The blue theme really makes the room look interesting.

The General Bar
Here in the General Bar, they have 12 different taps of beer. Nothing can beat having a glass of beer while listening to a live band play.

The Patio operates daily from 5pm-2am on Sundays to Thursday and 5pm-3am on Fridays, Saturdays, Eve of Public Holidays and Public Holidays.

The Patio is located in Level 2 of First World Plaza.

There was another event running simultaneously with the Bloggers Day Out Event, which was the Single To Mingle Event.

Resorts World Genting selected 20 single people from their Facebook page to join this event. This event was done in conjunction with Valentines Day.

The 20 finalists were paired up with another person (a male and a female in a team) and this team will have to go around Resorts World Genting and complete a number of tasks together. Sort of like the Amazing Race.

In the end the winners will receive prizes from Resorts World Genting as well as various sponsors.

The 20 finalists were treated to a romantic dinner at The Patio. And we the bloggers were there too for dinner.

During dinner, we were entertained by the live band on stage.

If you are looking for a great time in the evening, do come over to The Patio.

There you go! Some of the hidden secrets of First World Plaza revealed to you!

I hope after reading this post, you have gained some insight into the various activities you can do in First World Plaza. The adventure does not stop here as what I've blogged about is just the tip of the iceberg! There are more adventures and fun waiting to be discovered in First World Plaza.

The next time you are there, be sure to take lots of photos and tell everyone about the great holiday you have.

I hope to go back there soon as I have some unfinished business. =]

Until next time! See ya!
