Stuck in the Boyband Era

You know what the term 'stuck in the ice age' means but the question here is, 'Are you stuck in the boyband era?' Are you one of them. I think I am.
I haven't put much thought into this but just was recently reminded by my lecturer, he said, 'if you guys are still stuck in the boyband era, then it's time to think that you're already getting old'. Or something like that. So then I thought, hey, that's me. Haha! Yeah, music after the millennium doesn't really please me anymore. Boybands evolved into grown-up-bands and they they split and get extinct. Soon came the invasion of hip hop, punk, rap and many many others...yikes!

If you're born sometime around the time I was or maybe a few years earlier you would have heard of the boyband 911. That was the first ever boyband I ever listened to.

Recognise these guys?

Hey wait, the first ever song I listen to was Fool's Garden - Lemon Tree. Great song. Ancient history song. Haha!

I wonder how
I wonder why
Yesterday you told me 'bout the blue blue sky
And all that I can see is just a yellow lemon-tree
I'm turning my head up and down
I'm turning turning turning turning turning around
And all that I can see is just another lemon-tree

Onto another point, if you guys listen to music of the late 90s, have you notice that the songs on most singers of the first and second albums usually sound really nice and when they progress further, their songs usually suck?! I'm not sure what you think, but that's what I think. Like seriously from pretty girl next door to slutty girl at the back alley. Not that I mind the outfit (ngek ngek), it's just that the music is crap for me.

Note: Britney Spears (very good example eh?)

So well, the millennium came and so did the Y2K virus. The end of boybands, some new ones were emerging but weren't really successful. Then there's music from solo artists such as Jesse McCartney and others which I don't really remember right now. Music which I still like but they weren't staying for long. So yeah, whatever, I'm old and stuck in the ice age and in the era of boybands and VCRs.

Here's some music videos for those of you old peeps. Check out Rachel Steven's. She's hot! And also a steamy MTV of Jesse McCartney's Leavin. Enjoy!

Make the Right Choice

Currently feeling:

Like crap with head spinning out of control, mind trying to figure out what's going on, with my left brain finding the solutions to my current life (right brain trying to survive at the same time).

Will you know the answers to everything in life? Is that even possible? Right now I feel like turning to the back page of the book, 'Guide to Life', and taking a peep at all the answers printed behind. My life is currently in a mess (well, that's what I think) but isn't this a new chapter in my life? How can it start to get ruined just after turning a few pages? I haven't even got to the climax of this chapter. Sigh (the only expression I can give right now).

Let's skip the pity on me and have a look at your point of view. How are you doing right now? Still standing on your two feet or are you at the same scenario as I am? Your whole body dangling down a cliff with just your two bare hands hanging on for survival. Sounds too drastic, am I going overboard here? Hmm...

Life's a game where you only have one life at it. Lose your life, then it's game over. Get mushrooms and shining stars and maybe you'll get a chance at passing several hard obstacles. Just assume the mushrooms and stars are your choices you make in your everyday life. You make the right choice, you get through an obstacle in life. You make a wrong one, well, you will end up like small Mario getting hit by a tortoise shell.

Have you read the poem, The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost? Here's the whole poem:

The Road Not Taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth.

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same.

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

If you have gone through secondary school, you would have read this or at least heard of the title. Ever wondered what will happen if you took the other road? I think I have made a U-turn in my life and taken the other road in the means of changing my course but there seems to be so many other roads after that. Each with its own scenario in life. Did I choose the correct road? Pray that there's no road block.

Getting back to the answers in life. Do you know everything in life? Do you know what your next step is? Have you planned out everything in your little black or pink diary until its full of scribbles and notes? Is anyone that organized? Sometimes I really hope that everything can go according to plan but (there's so many 'buts' in life eh?) I just can't figure out everything. Yeah, I can find the tangent to some curve line or the factors of some long and weird equation but (damn, another 'but') an answer to a short question such as 'Have I made the right decision?' is so difficult to answer.

Other than that, don't you just want to know what other people are thinking? What's going on in their head. You try really hard to look into someone's tiny little brain but all you can see is blank. You don't want to know what other people are thinking? Trying having a conflict with someone who will have an impact in your life then say that to me again. Life is just full of mysteries.

Mood swings and grey clouds, they seem to be in common. One time they're there and a blink of an eye they're not. Tell you that there's not much good mood spinning around me currently. Only grey clouds and lots of haze and I mean lots and lots of haze! Sue the people for destroying mother nature! Make Peace, Not Haze!

Mario has finished Level 1. Will stop for now... Till next time. Be happy and make the right choice! It can save your life!

Money Matters Again!

Money matters. Have you ever been in need of cash, short of cash, owing people cash, people owing you cash, you bank almost going dry, spent too much until you realized that you shouldn't, being afraid of not being able to pay your rent? I know I have. The world seems to revolve around money these days doesn't it? And some people say money isn't everything. Well in my opinion, if money affects your future and your life, it is everything.

Being a student, sometimes studying away from home ain't that fun. Think about paying rent and paying for your food. Some might say that that's not a problem for them but I'm no rich kid. I'm currently paying everything myself. Yes, all my expenses including my fees i bear it myself. Why you say I do that? It's very simple. It's because I don't want to be a burden to anybody else no more. You know you get the feeling whenever someone helps you out and you gotta pay them back sometime in the future. So, if I do everything myself then I don't have that feeling of repaying anybody back. It all seems too negative the way I say this out but I hope you get my point. There's still some kindness debts I'm hanging on too. Right now, I'm counting on graduating first. Get a job. Get a whole lotta cash. And I guess everything will roll smoothly from there onwards.

The cost of a higher level student's life (based on an estimated amount):

Meals: RM15/day (if you have 3 meals per day)
Transport: RM5/day
Rent and utilities: +/- RM300/month
Reload cards: RM30/month
Miscellaneous: RM20/month

So that will total up to RM950 per month. Which will come up to RM11,400 per year! Now if you include an estimated full course fees of RM4000 per year. That will bring up the total to RM15,400! Talk about spending money!

Government loans? Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN)? Which gives you a loan of RM10,000 for 2 years. I guess that covers up pretty much of the course fees but what are you gonna eat after that? Maybe have a FULL COURSE TWO YEAR DIET PROGRAM? Now that's crap!

So I say, if you're not the person who saves much, you're pretty much dead by now. Good luck and keep yourself alive!

Check out our country's economy statistics:
The Department of Statistics Malaysia says, "The index for Food & Non-Alcoholic Beverages for the month of March 2009 compared to the same month in 2008 showed a high percentage change of 8.8 per cent, while the index for Non-Food increased by 1.0 per cent. For the period of January to March 2009, the index for Food & Non-Alcoholic Beverages as well as Non-Food registered an increase of 9.2 per cent and 1.1 per cent respectively. Compared to the previous month, the index for Food & Non-Alcoholic Beverages decreased by 0.5 per cent while the index for Non-Food remained unchanged at 107.8 (Table 1)."

The Beginning of a New Chapter

Well, I guess I'm back into blogging once again, after 3 months going missing. I've been going on and off haven't I? Can't help it, when I'm into something else, my thirst to blog seems to go away. Been real busy with my blogshop business these past 5 to 6 months or so. Having it set up so nicely in the beginning only to feel exhausted in the end, which is now. Will talk more about this soon or maybe not so soon.

I did actually wanted to come back into the blogging world a little bit sooner but then again I wanted a new header banner and a new layout if I do so. At that time I was just too lazy to do all the editing. Had many great topics to write about at that time. Maybe I'll post it up, one day. Anyway, the thing that got me back into blogging was actually because of me having Photoshop lessons in class and most of my course mates currently have a blog. So, why not?! Why not blog again? So here I am, in front of the screen, typing words into this small rectangle which seems to be positioned akwardly. Posting words into the world wide web not knowing if anybody will notice my re-occurence and actually reading what I am typing now.

Maybe a short update about myself since the time I left cyberspace. I've withdrawn from my Financial Accounting course (bye bye ACCA! :[ ) kinda sad actually for me having to withdraw and not complete a course. I really hope to complete my Diploma but there are reasons whereby I just can't make it. So, that's that. Damn! This feeling sucks. Can't imagine the opportunities I can get if I can just have an extra Diploma in hand. Well, a month or so after that I enrolled myself into a new course in Tunku Abdul Rahman College (TARC) and that's where I am now, taking up Diploma in Multimedia Design. I guess this suits me better? I can tell you the truth that I enjoy Photoshop more than Debits and Credits :D. Wish me luck!

Besides that, as some of you may know that I now own a blogshop. The idea of setting up a blogshop came when I bought something online. So I thought, hey, this cannot be that hard. And here I am once again, doing something and learning something starting from scratch. Yeah, I've hit hard rocks and jumped over huge mountains at first. Marketing a new blogshop isn't easy. You'll get the idea if you have a blog yourself. You don't get much visitors during the early stages right? It's the same idea with a blogshop. Crap it was hard. But I guess some of my effort paid off. I do get regulars once in awhile. Hope they will continue being my regulars. Thanks you guys! Erm, gals mostly!

A little intro about my blogshop. It's named One Stop 3008. Currently it caters mostly for the females. Products ranging from clothing, face and eye masks, bikinis and lingeries and also bags! Besides that there are also some stylish clothes available for the guys. And the hip thing now are cosmetic coloured contact lens. That too are available in my blogshop. Click the banner below for a visit.

So I guess that's all the updates about me. Nothing much happened. What a life, eh?!

I'm going to run you guys through my new chapter of college life right now. Well, I've moved into my own room right now. I can get a little more privacy this time. Better for studies too right although there's nothing much to study for my course. It's already Week3 in the First Semester and yet nothing much is happening yet. Back in the other times, when I was studying in School of Business Studies, notes would have been piled up as high as a mountain already but right now my mountain is as flat as a piece of pancake. Haha! So much for notes! Being in a course that is based and assessed mostly on assignments, nothing much has been given or taught this past weeks. I'm like so free compared to last time. I think I would be studying for my mid-term already back then. I need to do something, I been wasting too much time already. Give me someting, please?

Nothing much to say about the people, too many students = can't know everyone. Not a good thing. So, I guess whoever is reading this, do walk up to me and say hi yeah?! I won't bite. :D

I guess this post is getting a little bit too long already. Half of you might even be sleeping reading halfway through. So, I'll just keep my thoughts for next time.

Take care.

Aquaria KLCC

Finally I'm am back once again after my disappearance for more than 50 over days! I was busy with exams the first few weeks. Then when it came to my semester break I was busy with my online business. Will come to that later but for now let venture into the marine life.

Have you all ever wondered what it would be like to swim deep in the ocean? To be a great white shark, to be Nemo, to be a mermaid. Well, last week I took a trip to KLCC Aquaria. You don't know what or where Aquaria is? Hmm...

AQUARIA KLCC
Located in KLCC, adjacent to the PETRONAS Twin Towers, Aquaria KLCC is a world-class
aquarium that showcases animals and various types of colorful marine life species from
Malaysia and around the world.

The aquarium occupies 60,000 square feet in the Concourse level of the Kuala Lumpur
Convention Center. A visit to the Aquaria KLCC will take you through a journey of discovery
in education as well as eco- tourism, supported by the latest technology with a mesmerizing
ambience.

- Adapted from KLCC Aquaria
So anyway, entry passes are charged at RM20 for students. Sure is a good thing of being a student right? There's almost student price for everything!

First up was these sea creatures. Starfish and hard-shelled water creatures thingy. Wasn't really paying attention to the description given.

Look-a-like?

This place is just amazing, At first I thought they only show us fish, like those normal ones but then again its not just that. Different species of animals and insects can be found in Aquaria.

I even found Nemo!

Feast on the pictures I have taken. Too lazy to blog about every one of them. :)

BubbleShare: Share photos - Easy Photo Sharing

So, on to my other part of the story. Some of you will have known that I recently built my own online blog shop selling colour contact lens and clothings.

These two blogshops were:

GEO Lens 3008
3008 Fashion Wear

Some of the items and products sold are seen in pictures below.

But now, I have combined these two shops into one, with a new name.

Do stop by one in awhile when you are free or have the mood for shopping. Check out if there are great offers on clothes. We are now trying to bring in as many products as we can, thus, given the name One Stop 3008. Your one stop blogshop for all your needs!

Visit One Stop 3008 now and thank you for you support for A New Beginning all these while. :)

Cheers!
