Why Do Some Blog Entries Get Nanged into the Most Popular Rankings and Yours Doesn’t?

Only blog entries with interesting and fascinating content will get nanged more. Blogs with articles being able to captures one’s interest will receive more hits. Do you agree? I certainly doubt these statements.

I’ve came to realize that most of the Innit blog posts which have reach the Most Popular Entries, the majority of them are using cheap and easy ways to increase traffic in their blog by tricking readers. Have you noticed that these days most of the popular posts titles and content include ‘exchanging links’ and ‘how to get traffic into your blog tips’.

These are definitely not high quality entries. How come these entries get nanged the most? That is because most bloggers being bloggers would always want to find ways to increase traffic in their blogs and having seen these posts on exchanging links and tips they will say, “Hey, why not give it a try”. So, that is how these cheeky bloggers (those who posted the ‘exchanging links and tips’ entries) get their traffic which you will not get for a million years.

I have also realized that most of the ‘Popular’ blog entries in Innit have these words in their entry title. For example, nipples, sex and molested are among the favourite words. Are these words that attractive to readers?

Somehow, I do hope that Innit will be able to filter out quality posts with the not-so-quality entries. This way, it will be able to produce the best out of the blogging world.

Anyways, what I have said is just a harmless thought and it was not meant for me to fire at anybody. What I want from you guys reading this is not for you to take a baseball bat and come after me but what I really want is for you to leave me comments on what you think about this matter.

Happy blogging peeps!

Wanna read good blogs?
Take note of authored the blogpost. Some innit users have good titles, but really crappy content, while some of them has really good content but doesn't know how to come up with a good title. I mean, if you've been with innit for a long time, you should be able to know who can write a good post.

So is this post of yours quality or not so quality? Or r u, in your own words, tricking people to read your post?

Food for thought . . .

Well, this is innit. People will get attracted by the interesting titles and horny stuff, thus making those type of posts getting more nangs. Most people don't read long and good articles, which I can't think of anyway to change that. All I can say is for those who really have good quality posts, I believe some day, more people will know about it.

Some people can even paste some part of a conversation that only they can understand or just putting an eye catching title with a post that has no relevance.

I seriously don't know who really writes good stuff here, I guess I'll need to keep checking out.

but it's always been this way in the Internet search industry. As an intern in an Internet company I've come to realize that the top searches are words associated with porn.

Go figure...

nice post - true indeed. but i figure there's no point in just targeting such reads - yr usual readers wont like the blog.

btw, u forgot to mention, another way to get hits w/o being tops is by dang-ing ppl lol (no need for me to mention these weirdos)

Lol. Usually I won't put in title that is not related with my post. Timing is also very important when you post on to innit.

Interesting. Never thought I was cheeky. Hmmmm. Nice work with the blurring though. =p

And I believe that 3OINT8 is right. Hang with innit long enough and you'll see whose blog rawks and whose doesn't.

Cheers.

I thought the whole point of starting a blog is to write for yourself, about your thoughts and reflections, a record of important incidents in your life. Sorta like a personal journal with a hint of voyeurism.

When ads and $$ come into play, it's hard to keep that in mind and keep to your initial intentions.

yep, the weird titled posts will always be very dominant in the top of innit.

but as 3point8 & pamsong have mentioned, good ones will get noticed eventually, and they don't need innit top posts to tell people that.

i guess innit's good for the exposure though, and it can be interesting to check out recent posts instead of always glarring at the top nanged.

Well, I agreed with you that Nuffnang should do some filtering. Don't you feel sad when you spend lots of time doing research and share them with your readers and yet you hardly get any comments?

Even with good titles, Malaysians bloggers are still into gossips, sex, make money and getting more traffic as you had stated. Wonderful right? Haha...

I hardly bother to put up my posts in Innit nowadays. The most I get is less than a handful of readers who appreciate good posts.

I do with some of the facts that titles are fun, but content barely interesting. Not everyone can live up to their titles on innit. But I wouldn't let it bother me much anymore

At least I wasn't lying in my title " Malaysian Dreamgirl Cindy's Picture Bares Nipple" right?

Agreed...

However, you must be aware that this comes as in the new form of Journalism, where everyone broadcast news.

Nuffnang or Innit may 'filter' them for quality, however, at the end of the day, the culprits are still the bloggers who nang without a noggin.

Interestingly, I sense more of these are the 'lala' tactics being used that I realise do not hold value.

Sigh..
If only there are more that upholds quality content and superior value to readers..
