Resorts World Genting Mobile Application

Congratulations Resorts World Genting for getting your mobile application downloaded over 100,000 times!

Here's my brief intro into what the app features.

After downloading the app, clicking into it will bring you into their main page which features different sections of activities. It is a very simple and easy to use interface. Absolutely, user-friendly and requires almost no time at all to learn to use the app.

The main page features sections such as

• My Account,
• Highlights,
• Engage,
• Book Now,
• Shows & Events,
• Hotels

and when you swipe your smart phone to the left the second page features links to

• Dining,
• Theme Park,
• Getting There,
• Explore,
• and More.

where I will be briefly go through each section with you here.

My Account

In the My Account section, you will need to login with you Genting WorldCard ID and it will take you to this page where you can check on your Genting Points and WorldCard Points. It eases Genting members when they need to check their GP and WP, there's no need to log on the computer to check or find a kiosk in RWGenting anymore! That's fantastic!

Highlights

Now in the Highlights section, it will display the latest promotions going on in RWGenting. If you are looking for deals and promotions, just click into Highlights and it will display everything you intend to find out. 

Engage

The Engage section allows users to easily access other social media platforms which RWGenting has. There's no need to close Genting's app to load other apps for this.

Book Now

The name says it all, Book Now is very suitable for everyone who needs to easily book a room in Resorts World. Just choose your destination and hotel. Key in the needed details and you're done. Everything easily completed in the palm of your hands.

Shows & Events

Shows & Events enables you to view the latest shows and performances which is going on and which will be held in RWGenting. Fancy a show you would like to watch? Clear your schedules and book a room now!

Hotel List

View the various hotels and rooms available in RWGenting. Get a brief description on what each hotel and room has to offer.

Dining

Fancy a meal in RWGenting? Check out what they have to offer on the various dining places they have! Details on the operating hours are available to make you that you won't miss a meal! : )

Those that fancy the cool breeze, you can check out their Theme Park section which displays the various rides available. How long will it take you to ride them all?

Reflection

Hello.

I'm currently feeling ill. After a long weekend of partying and drinking, I'm back home in my room sitting inside these four walls.

Many things have happened within these past couple of days. Many ups and many downs as well. It sure did not just feel like two days have passed. And I myself sure had gone through a whole lot of shitload all over again. It seems like it keeps happening to me and only me. Damn.

But I feel blessed to have my brothers and sisters to have gone through it with me. They themselves have troubles of their own and we are always there for one another. Always.

I need to get a time and a proper place to reflect on my life. To think about what have I done correctly, what have i done wrong, what have I done which looks stupid. I need that.

Life's tough.

But it doesn't get any better than me.

This has been going on for awhile now.

Taking The Easy Way Out

The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost

I was never a fan of taking the easy way out. I always will tend to choose the road not taken. However, there are some things which just seemed easier if it was the other way.

I was almost at the point of taking the left road until i steered right right at the last minute. It wasn't as smooth of a ride as I thought it would be. Of course I had expected this, damn if you suddenly make a hard right turn, it's sure gonna be rough. And that's what I got, I rough ride.

And finally, I got to know what lies in front of me on the other side. A bumpy and a road filled with potholes. I was expecting a much smoother ride but hey, not everything will go your way right?

I should have asked earlier about the other road but I was to shy to ask and too proud to lose. So I tried to steer back left but it kinda got worse and now I'm stuck in the middle.

Crap.

It's Time To Get My Head In The Game

It's that time again when you just have to accept the fact and turn back time. Well, usually people would say to forget the past and look forward into the future but for me, I'll just take it in this time, I'll settle my past problems while looking into my future. I'll rewind the time back to when things were just clearer.

I guess this will be the best choice for me for now. Though I still tend to not follow this way sometimes. I'l sway away from it. Heck with it, when the time comes, I'll be better at making decisions.

Wait, if I rewind back the time, does it mean that I'm back in 2012?

It's already the new year. So yeah, Happy New Year. Am hoping to have a much brighter future this time around. 2012 was really a bad year for me. Shall pray hard for things to go my way this time around.

Plan to wake up on the right side of my bed everyday this time. Don't you just hate it when you wake up on the wrong side of the bed every morning? It kinda spoils your whole day. And that totally sucks. *pushes my bed to the left side of the wall* This way I'll surely wake up on the right side. :P

I have to do much self-reflection after my exams.

Getting Ready For 2013

Two more days to go till the new year arrives. 2012 has been full of unexpectedness for me. Some good and some not so good. Well, it's about time for a new beginning.

Anyway, I finally unboxed my Christmas present. Thank you Caroline for the thoughtful gift. It has been awhile since I last received one.  : )

It came with a cute card and a.. erm.. 'pen'. Wasn't really expecting these. So it was a pleasant surprise. It's always heartwarming to read a self-written note.

And yes, she got me a planner. Must be because she got tired of nagging me to plan my stuff earlier. Now, with this planner I'll have no excuses not to have planned things out properly.

Really appreciate the effort and thought of you getting me this. Thanks!

Let us look forward to a better year ahead.

That One Snowflake

Boxing Day 2012

Here's how my Boxing Day went. There's no un-boxing of boxes for me, so I went out and looked for my own fun.

I started my journey back to KL from Ipoh this morning. I went back a few days earlier for Christmas. It has been a long while since I've last went back home. So yeah. Now I'm back in the city, waiting for exams which is coming real soon. One paper and then one final semester to go until it's time for me to face the world.

Came back and then decided to do myself some shopping. I'll buy myself boxes and un-box them myself. Headed to Pavillion KL which is still one of my favourite malls to shop in. Maybe because it's easiest accessible to me and has the best choices of shops.

Bought four pieces of clothing as you can see. Grey Black Grey Black. Shows that I'm not in the mood to buy colours today. hmm...  :/

Done with shopping.

Came back home and decided to colour my hair. Which is why you will see my poorly taken selca below. Haven't been practicing.

I just need some time-out from everything that is happening. Squeeze me feet.

Can't wait for 2013 to come. A new beginning I hope.

The Road Not Taken

Ever wondered how things will turn out if you took the other option in life?

The path was paved right in front of me. Properly planned out and everything seems to be going fine, until recently. A lot have changed.

Thoughts were messed up, plans were destroyed, the future has been blurred out. I wonder what will happen if I took the other road if the other road did exist. What I had was just a highway and now I have arrived at a crossroad. To turn or to just go forward?

Life has too many uncertainties. Some predictable some are not. Well, I guess that's just how things go.

2012 Was Not Great After All

Greetings. I am Mr Squinty Eyes. I come from a world far far away and now have taken over this blog.

Anyway, back to business. I'm sure that not many will be reading this post as I tend to lose readers whenever I take a hiatus from blogging but I don't care. It's not you that I want. I know I am a week early to make a year's end blog post and to make a recap of 2012 but I'm going to do it now anyways.

Rewinding back to the start of the year, it was January 2012 and I thought to myself it will be a good year this time. It's my year. Yes, I was born 24 cycles before. However, things weren't going my way the whole time. Everything seems to be running downhill right from the start. It still is but I do wish for it to stop soon.

Not sure if it's just my thoughts but nothing seemed to went right this time around. Well, there were some happy things that happened. My head shrunk smaller.

Good times, bad times. It happens to everyone. It'll soon be 2013. So let's put aside the past and hope for the best.

Things to do in year 2013:

1. Catch a wild Pikachu

2. Quit my current course and enroll in a make-up course

3. Get a tattoo

4. Sing the national anthem in Genting Highlands

5. Buy a bag-pack

6. Graduate from the make-up course

7. Eat raw processed food

8. Level-up on selca skills

9. Be a total goof

and most importantly,

10. To get to know more awesome friends

That's my Top10 list of things to do in 2013. Which one shall I start off with?

Samsung SMART CAMERA WB150F Review

Once again I am given a chance by Samsung Malaysia and Nuffnang to review yet another gadget. This time it was the Samsung SMART CAMERA WB150F.

Like the past reviews I have done before, I will only judge the product in the views of a user and consumer. Not as a tech expert.

THE PRODUCT

OVERVIEW AND FIRST IMPRESSIONS 

Does size matter?

Well, what came into my mind when I received this camera is that it is slightly huge. It's dimensions are 106.5 x 59.9 x 23.4 (32.2)mm. A little too big of a size for a digital camera for me. I prefer much smaller and thinner models.

Free 4GB SD Card
A plus point for this product is that it comes with a 4GB SD card. That saves you some cash from buying an additional SD card.

Buttons are rather small?
I don't know. Maybe it's just me but i'm having a hard time pressing the buttons on this camera. Maybe I just have a big thumb. :(


FEATURES
Here are some of the features which may be the camera's selling point. However, it is not able to persuade me because I almost never use these features available in a point and shoot. What I want in a PnS is a quick processing sharp image.

Records video in half HD (720p)

This would be better if it could record videos in 1080p. However 720p seems sufficient for the moment. Its output format is in .mp4. I have found out that editing videos in this format in Adobe After Effects is near impossible!

Not a good camera to get if you are planning to shoot simple videos and edit them later.

Filters and Settings

Filters and Settings I almost never use them. The purpose of a PnS is to capture moments that might pass by in a quick second. So why fiddle through the settings to get the best filter for a great shot? Filters are almost useless in any cameras.

Extra features

These are yet again some extra features to play around with. Not much use here except for the panorama capture. The other features are just fun shots. Suitable for girls I guess.

Wi-Fi feature to connect/share to the Internet

Here's another selling point for this camera. However, I don't think that it is a good idea. I prefer going back home, transfer all the photos into my computer, then uploading them manually into the internet. If I would like to have that instant upload, I would rather use my smart phone to capture the moment. Besides, draining your camera's batter is not a good idea.

PROCESSOR SPEED
I have discovered that its processing speed is rather slow. Every time I capture a photo, it needs to process that particular photo for a couple of seconds.

And every time I turn the dial to change modes, it takes awhile.

A certain no-no for me. Too slow.

PICTURE QUALITY
The photos just seemed too washed out. Don't you think? 'Nuff said.

THE PRICE
Samsung SMART CAMERA WB150F retails for RM799 (in the range of this price).

THE VERDICT
I personally will not buy this camera as it is not up to my expectations. I would save up more and get an even better camera.
